5 years ago I was constantly tired and didn't have the energy I really wanted in my life. Although my eating habits weren’t horrific, my general tendency was to eat whatever was convenient or seemed appealing at the time. I paid little attention to the importance of food and never stopped to consider that what I was eating (and in most cases unknowingly eating) was making me feel tired, worn down, and unhealthy.
About that time I changed jobs and was encouraged by a colleague to start running during lunch. I was fortunate to work for a company that valued being active, as well as productive. I had no idea at the time, but running would eventually be the start of my journey to discovering the importance food has on how we feel, look, and our overall health. I was 42 years old.
